Childhood Cancer is an underfunded and under appreciated national tragedy. Cancer is the leading cause of medical death in children between 1 and 18 years of age and more children in the United States will die from cancer this year than from HIV, cystic fibrosis, and asthma combined.
Furthermore, government funding of research is markedly skewed against childhood cancer and private organizations like Nick’s Team must step up and fill the void if we are eventually going to win our championship over childhood cancer.
